This remake commercial was a fun project for me. This 2013 Red Bull Commercial was stripped of all music, and I started from scratch. I found myself in a sweet spot of sorts: taking extremely beautiful shots of landscapes and extreme activities by human beings all in one video, and creating a sound around it. I couldn't ask for anything better.
Having a composition featured in this documentary was quite an honor. Some local Atlanta film-makers took time to invest in a project that would last longer than some social media hype. They made a documentary encouraging a healthy lifestyle and what that look's like.
For a year and a half I made music with a band called PAPER LIGHTS. Without a doubt, the best experience I've had in a band. Ever. While in that group, my role was writing and performing piano parts that were both electronic and ethereal, and all the way back to a piano by itself. In 2014, one of our songs was sync-licensed by Chick-fil-a and featured on ESPN for their bowl game promo.
An incredible crew of people from Pasadena, CA. They're the "International House of Prayer." The podcasts they will be putting out this year will include not only incredible content and sound discussions for communities, but one of my compositions as the opening song. Take a moment to browse around their site and see what they are all about.
Revenge was a journey into simplicity and learning how to get out of the way. This quick score was my attempt at crafting a carpet for the film itself to rest on. This story was so strong, and at first I wanted to compose with that same attitude, but as my eyes and ears got more acclimated, I soon saw that the music needed to get out of the way more than it needed to be a heroic masterpiece.
