Today starts the process of capturing sounds. Ill keep these posts on the shorter side as far as text goes, and give hopefully a lot of photos and videos. I know it won't be the same as being here in it, but hopefully you can experience capturing sounds in Alaska up close and personal, or at least as much as the Internet will allow!
Im on my way now to the Arctic Valley (Chugach) which is about 45-50 minutes north of anchorage. In the car with me are two other photographers who are amazing at what they do, not to mention they're pretty cool hangs, sometimes. It's 16 degrees Fahrenheit here in anchorage but where we're going, it's about 10 with a windchill of approximately 0.
Annnnmnnd day 1 was phenomenal. Got perfect wind samples in the arctic circle, footsteps in 2 feet of snow, birds, tons of fun banging on a metal pillar holding up a ski lift. All in all, great sights, great sounds, great people. GREAT. DAY.
